The heat transfer vinyl on the market has different qualities. Needless to mention, you should focus on the high-quality types of vinyl of you don’t want to get frustrated with your end products. But high-quality heat transfer vinyl that vision supplies is primarily produced using polyurethane (PU) to make them thin yet opaque, easy to weed, quick to apply and long-lasting.

Such materials tend to be durable and do not easily peel off, fade or crack no matter how many times you wash them.Besides a top-quality vinyl should also be thin- the thinner it comes, the easier you’ll be able to cut it by hand or machine and easier it will be to transfer.

Finding the best Heat Transfer Vinyl for your needs is often time-consuming when you first start out, particularly if you’re planning on producing retail-quality designs, so we’ve created this guide which will hopefully help you to find what you’re looking for.

In general, the main elements for the perfect HTV are as follows:

Quality: Good vinyls tend to be much more durable and do not peel off easily, fade or crack, providing they’ve been washed according to the after-care instructions provided. They also tend to be much thinner, as they’re primarily made using PU (Polyurethane) rather than PVC which is cheaper to manufacture.

Range of Colors: Most standard HTVs are produced in matt or semi-matt block colors, and vision have a wider choice of colors available. For example, Sports film Extra T-Shirt Vinyl comes different colors, including fluorescent and glitter finishes.

Ease of Application: The process of heat-applying the vinyl to the fabric should be a quick and easy process. However, using a PVC-based HTV can often result in issues applying it. By comparison, PU-based HTV tends to be hot peel which makes it much quicker, and providing the adhesive is applied at the correct temperature it should easily last at least 50 washes.

Speciality Features: If you’re looking for a unique finish, such as Flock HTV or Reflective HTV, there are different grades available in vision. If you want to know more about HTV,you can leave us a message.

Vision provide sublimation paper sheet ,including A3/A4,and sublimation paper roll, such as 120gsm,100gsm,90gsm,80gsm,70gsm,60gsm,45gsm,40gsm,it is up to the material you need to sublimate on.

120g sublimation paper is best for medium to slightly heavy-saturated ink designs.

100g sublimation paper is best for designs that have light to medium ink saturation.

60gsm sublimation paper is the light weight sublimation paper .This paper has a fast dry performance ,so your efficiency will be improved and save a certain time and money.

In addition, low weight sublimation paper is suitable for high speed printer such as HOPETECH ,MS,KONICA MINOLTA,EFI,Atexco etc.

The spots (impurity spots) on the heat transfer paper are an important indicator of the transfer paper. These spots may arise from the base paper or maybe from in the coating or production process. Spots seriously effect a large area of solid color printing, but it has little effect in fancy printing.

Vision has done a lot of investigation and research work on the spots, and made a lot of efforts on the generation and elimination methods of the spots. We have strict regulations and control from base paper to coating formula and production process.

With the new formula put into operation and the equipment transform,we are expected to eliminate the spots and reach the international advanced level.

You can use a standard inkjet printer to print onto sublimation paper with special sublimation ink. And then you place the paper onto your clothing and use a heat press, or in some cases, you can use an iron, and peel away the paper. Your design will be stuck-on to your garment, and you have finished transfer.

If you notice blurring in your image when you pull the transfer paper off, this may be because your substrate received too much time/temperature in the heat press, and now the image has started to bleed out. If this happens, we recommend reducing your time and attempting again.

It is important to note that not all products accept sublimation ink. For dye-sublimation to work, your product blank needs to have a polyester coating (or be made of a polyester material). At Coastal, all of our sublimation blanks come with the required polyester coating.

For fabrics, we recommend 100% white polyester for the best transfer. It is not possible to sublimate on 100% cotton – and your transfer will wash away in the first wash cycle. You can sublimate on poly/cotton blends, but the transfer will appear less vibrant and give a vintage look. In general, the higher level of polyester, the better.

Yes, sublimation printing is mainly suitable for light color polyester fabric . If you prefer to print on dark t-shirts, you can use digital print.

Sublimation only works with polyester fabrics,no 100% cotton! This is because sublimation ink only binds to polyester material. On the other hand, with heat transfer paper, you can decorate on light and dark-colored cotton, polyester and cotton-poly blends.

Heat transfer vinyl is a specialty vinyl material that is used to decorate or personalize clothing and accessories (including hats, handbags, school bags, pants, etc.) and other fabric items. HTV contains a heat-activated adhesive backing, which allows the vinyl to permanently transfer to your garment when heat-pressed under sufficient time, temperature and pressure, the vinyl can permanently transfer the vinyl to your clothes.

Actually,a heat press is necessary in this process to ensure time, temperature and a digital pressure setting accurately. But if you don’t have a heat press, you can choose an iron, which is easier and faster to apply, but the heat presses rely on manual pressure, that leads to uneven pressure, or incorrect pressure on the transfer. Also, that leads to poor adherence to the material and poor washability.

Vision always recommend specific heat presses to ensure the best results!

Firstly, did you fix your transfer after transferring on your shirt? If yes, make sure that you are washing your garment with the correct settings and that you dry it inside out.

Secondly, you’d better wash your t-shirt below 30℃ water.Try to avoid using very powerful washing powder or fabric conditioners.

For more information on the Washability settings, please visit our product Instructions.

The Heat Press is applied to press transfers onto printable substrate (such as Cotton or Polyester). By using high temperatures and strong pressure, the transfer is permanently embedded into the substrate. So,the quality of a heat transfer machine determines your transfer effect.

If your HP inkjet printer isn’t compatible with the Sublimation CISS Ink System, you shouldn’t try it. You’d better use sublimation specific ink and paper to work.As far as I know, many of HP inkjet typically won’t work for such conversion.

Currently, we mainly provide Fast Dry Sublimation Paper and Instant Dry Sublimation Paper. The main difference between them is the drying time. The drying time of Fast Dry Sublimation Paper needs 3-5minutes,and the drying time of Instant Dry Sublimation Paper only needs 50-60seconds.

Pigment ink for printing on inkjet heat transfer paper is recommended to use, because the waterproof effect of pigment ink is better than that of dye ink. it is not easy to change color during printing.Even more, it has long storage time and will not fade easily after printing.
